ARE YOU COVERED BY ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES?
Yes! We are Registered Massage Therapists with a specialty in Orthopaedic Massage. All insurance companies will accept your receipts. Unfortunately, at this time we do not do direct billing.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?
For your first treatment, we'll begin with a 30 minute assessment (approximately). This assessment will start with a history of the origin of your pain. Then, we will look at your total body posture to see how it is impacting your injury. Finally, we will complete any further orthopaedic evaluations on whatever joint is impacted. After the assessment, I'll leave the room to allow you to get changed, and we will complete the session with a 30 minute massage (approximately).
WHAT IS ORTHOPAEDIC MASSAGE?
While Orthopaedic Massage is similar to regular Western Swedish Massage, it differs in several ways. Firstly, a total Orthopaedic Assessment is completed to know exactly which structures are damaged. This ensures that root of the problem is treated and not just the symptoms. Secondly, Orthopaedic Massage uses a technique called Cyriax's Frictions. This method identifies the exact area of injury (lesion/scar tissue) to address so that only the unhealthy tissue is treated. Finally, a custom treatment program is created for you with a set amount of treatments along with the appropriate remedial exercises to ensure faster, more accurate results.
